Daejeon Youth Startup Academy (13th Cohort) — WITIVE’s 8-Month Growth Journey and Hands-on Acceleration with Bluepoint
From April 1 to November 30, 2023, WITIVE participated in the 13th cohort of the Daejeon Youth Startup Academy. This journey—kicked off by CEO Bonggyu Song’s enrollment—combined coursework and practice, mentoring and feedback, and intensive networking among young founders over eight months. Operated by Bluepoint Partners, the program emphasized a practical curriculum and field readiness.
Background & Goals — A Turning Point for WITIVE
Under the vision “Where ideas become business,” WITIVE has been growing into a platform company spanning planning, design, and development. Yet, in a rapidly changing market, structured validation and strategic scaling were essential. By joining the 13th cohort, we aimed to strengthen every capability founders need— market validation, customer development, investor communications, and legal/finance formalization.
Program Structure — The Essence of Practical Startup Education
Instead of lecture-only sessions, the program was designed as practice-centric coursework grounded in real business scenarios. It covered startup strategy, market analysis, sales architecture, fundraising, and legal/accounting/labor/IP, with repeated cycles of assignments and feedback across topics to drive tangible outcomes. Monthly review sessions scrutinized plans and metrics, enabling step-by-step growth as truly “execution-driven founders.”
Operator: Bluepoint — Know-how of a Hands-on Accelerator
Bluepoint Partners is a leading tech-focused accelerator in Korea, strong in sourcing startups, early-stage investment, and operating programs across growth stages. In this cohort, based on an “evidence-based, problem-first approach,” founders defined market problems themselves and practiced validating solutions. Mentoring covered investment, IR, and organizational growth— driving real business progress end to end.
Meetups, Seminars, and Field Exchanges — Connecting Problem Owners with Problem Solvers
The program featured diverse meetups and seminars. Through networking with founders, investors, corporate practitioners, and senior alumni, we gained practical advice and market insights. Feedback sessions on business models, IR rehearsal rounds, and brand-strategy workshops were run at near-real conditions— sharpening WITIVE’s strategic thinking and execution.
Alumni Network — Where Experience Becomes Knowledge
Centered around the main campus in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, the Academy runs a nationwide alumni network each year. Senior-cohort founders across the country gather to share hands-on experience, create collaboration opportunities, and offer realistic guidance to junior cohorts. Since graduation, WITIVE has continued to leverage this network to discover collaborations and build partnerships for expansion.
Selective Demo Day — Being Tested on a Real Stage
At the end of each cohort, only selected teams from across the country take the stage at the final Demo Day. Teams are comprehensively evaluated on marketability, growth potential, business model, team capability, and sustainability. Outstanding teams can receive investment and prize opportunities. More than a presentation event, Demo Day is where founders have their eight-month results objectively tested. For WITIVE, it validated our business model and growth potential and became a springboard to the next stage.
WITIVE’s Outcomes — Learning the Structure of Growth
WITIVE moved beyond the idea stage to establish a clear business structure and growth strategy. We refined market-validation procedures via education, mentoring, and feedback, and set up role allocation and goal management systems internally. Through founder-to-founder collaboration and networking, we built new partnerships and strengthened our presence in the startup ecosystem.
Takeaways — Training, Not Just Education; Practice, Not Just Theory
The 13th cohort proved that “founders grow through practice, not just learning.” Under Bluepoint’s operation, field-driven feedback, practical assignments, and peer networking clarified WITIVE’s strategic direction. This experience is a powerful driver for our next challenges and growth.
