Daejeon Science Festival 2024 — Connecting People and Science with CONNECT
Held Oct 18–20 across the Daejeon Convention Center, Expo Science Park, and Daedeok Innopolis, the Daejeon Science Festival ran under the theme “Daejeon’s Science & Technology! At the Center of the World.” WITIVE introduced CONNECT, a digital networking platform that opened a new arena where science and business meet.
Where Science Meets Networking — CONNECT Experience Zone
Inside the Advanced Industry + Science Experience Zone in DCC Hall 2, WITIVE operated a booth where visitors could try CONNECT’s digital business card service. With QR and NFC, attendees exchanged cards and shared profiles in real time, experiencing a new mode of science communication. Students and research-institution members showed particular interest, keeping the zone active throughout.
700 New Users On-site — Expanding CONNECT’s Science Network
The booth drew strong traffic throughout the festival. Scientists, startups, and student participants registered digital cards, totaling 700+ new users on CONNECT. This outcome demonstrated the platform’s potential to grow a community network rooted in science and technology.
A Festival Where Science Meets Content
As Daejeon’s signature science-culture event, the festival featured a science experience zone, Science Night, and a Daedeok Innopolis meetup zone, among others— bringing citizens, companies, and research institutes together to share the joy of science. On site, CONNECT supported real-time networking among participants and showed promise as a collaboration channel between organizers and participating companies.
CONNECT at the Center of Local Science Networking
Through this festival, WITIVE proved CONNECT’s practical utility in the science ecosystem. Going forward, we plan to expand the platform’s ESG and digital-transformation value by linking it with local science events and education/industry networking.
