WITIVE, recognized as a Social Venture
WITIVE Inc. applied for Social Venture evaluation on November 13, 2025 and was officially recognized as a Social Venture on December 3, 2025 after the review of Korea Technology Finance Corporation. The evaluation was conducted in accordance with the “Operational Guidelines for the Social Venture Support System”, and the result means that WITIVE’s businesses have been evaluated as having both social value and innovation.
In this article, we share an overview of Social Venture Square, the platform that operates the Social Venture system, the concept of Social Venture, and the achievements of WITIVE that led to this recognition.
1. Social Venture Square – A hub connecting social ventures and support institutions
Social Venture Square is an information and communication platform for Social Venture companies and support institutions. It was created to discover and nurture innovative companies that tackle diverse social problems, and it provides a Social Venture evaluation framework and value assessment model jointly designed by the public and private sectors.
The platform offers laws, systems, evaluation sheets and other practical materials related to Social Ventures in a structured way. Companies can use them as criteria to review their own business models and determine whether they qualify as a Social Venture, while support institutions can rely on the same model to select and support Social Ventures in a fair and transparent manner.
WITIVE also reviewed its business structure and social value creation model based on the criteria provided by Social Venture Square, and then applied for evaluation, which led to this official recognition.
2. What is a Social Venture – Pursuing social value and innovation together
A Social Venture is a company that aims to achieve both social problem solving and economic sustainability based on social entrepreneurship. Leveraging new technologies and business models, it creates social value and is evaluated mainly on the following elements:
① Social Problem – Clear understanding of the problem to be solved
The company must clearly identify what problems exist in society and who is experiencing inconvenience or inequality.
② Social Mission – A clear mission to solve the problem
The purpose and direction of the company must be focused on solving social problems, with concrete goals to pursue.
③ Innovative Solutions
The company needs innovative approaches that use technology, data, platforms or services to solve problems that could not be addressed by existing methods.
④ Sustainable BM – A sustainable business model
Social value creation should not end as a short-term project. It must be supported by a stable revenue structure so that social problem solving activities can be continued in the long term.
3. WITIVE’s achievements – Designing social value through technology
From the very beginning, WITIVE has clearly pursued the direction of “solving social problems with technology” and has implemented this vision through various services and platforms.
First, Respecx – enhancing reliability and accessibility of official records
Respecx is a service that issues, verifies and manages various official records such as awards, certificates and employment history in a digital way. It addresses the social problems of inefficiency and forgery risk inherent in paper-based documents, and provides an environment where individuals and institutions can handle official records more safely and transparently.
Second, CONNECT / CLOW – changing how we connect
CONNECT and CLOW are services that digitize business cards and networking culture. They reduce information waste and unnecessary printing from an ESG perspective, while helping people and organizations connect more efficiently.
Third, Ulleung Air – innovating regional mobility and tourism
Ulleung Air is a platform that connects travelers to Ulleungdo and local businesses. By integrating ticket reservations, local transportation and tour products, it improves access to information and booking convenience, and contributes to revitalizing the local economy.
Although these services operate in different domains, they all share the same goal: reducing information asymmetry and inefficiency, and building a fairer and more transparent society. This direction and execution were important reasons why WITIVE was positively evaluated and recognized as a Social Venture.
4. Our commitment as a Social Venture
Being recognized as a Social Venture is both an encouragement that “our direction is right” and a sign of greater responsibility for WITIVE.
